About Us

Who We Are

Shield Maidens is a women-led initiative dedicated to digital empowerment and online safety for young women and marginalized groups. We work to combat technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TFGBV) through education, advocacy, and inclusive support.

Our Mission

We aim to raise awareness, provide cyber safety practices, and engage communities in combating TFGBV while supporting marginalized groups, including PWDs, through inclusive resources and advocacy.

01

Our Vision

To create a world where young women, girls, and persons with disabilities are empowered to navigate digital spaces safely, confidently, and free from Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV).

Learn to Be Safe Online

The internet can be empowering, but also risky without the right knowledge. Whether you're a teen, adult, or guardian, understanding how to stay safe online is critical. This section highlights a few essential practices to protect yourself and others. Want to dive deeper? Visit our Resources section to access toolkits, guides, and take our interactive safety quiz.

Strong Passwords

Create long, unique passwords using a combination of letters, numbers, and symbols. Avoid reusing the same password across platforms.

Avoid Phishing

Be cautious of emails or messages asking for sensitive info or urging "urgent" action. Verify sources directly before clicking links.

Privacy Settings

Regularly check and customize your privacy settings on social media and apps. Limit who can view your posts, tag you, or access your data.

Safe Sharing Habits

Think before you post. Avoid sharing personal information like your address or phone number. Once it's online, you can't control it.

Seek Help

If you're being harassed online, don't stay silent. Report it to the platform and talk to someone you trust. Your safety matters.
